Software Defined Data Radio (ARDS Mini-DLT)

The Telion 1300 is a fully digital software-defined radio transceiver with a medium scale FPGA onboard for fully customizable SDR solutions. Supporting virtually any type of RF channel waveform, the Telion features Spread Spectrum Frequency Hopping (hops as fast as 100,000 times/second), Direct Sequence or Hybrid at 1350-1390 MHz with a frequency resolution of 25 kHz. RF channel throughput is adjustable according to the application needs from 2.4 kb/s to 1.3 Mb/s with a wide selection of digital data interfaces. The unit is available as an OEM Module, PC/104 Module or in a highly MIL Type Ruggedized Enclosure. The Telion-1300 is also equipped with an on-board encryption engine, randomizer, and encoder.

P501RE 1350-1390 Mhz
Long Range Military Ethernet Bridge


The P501RE is a long range, very robust transparent Ethernet Bridge for L Band applications. It is ideal for applications where long range Ethernet communications is required, but an average throughput in the 100 Kbps range is sufficient. When using radio for data communications, there is always a tradeoff between throughput and range. This product provides both a long range and a significant data rate.

Now the FreeWave FGR-115RE Ethernet Radio is available in PC/104 format. You can have ultra-long range wireless TCP/IP LAN integrated right into your stack!

The PCFW-104-ETH is a long range, very robust, fully NE2000/RTL8019 compliant PC/104 Ethernet Bridge and is fully compatible with the existing FreeWave FGR-115RE Ethernet Radio. It is ideal for applications where an Ethernet interface is required, but an average throughput in the 100 Kbps+ range is sufficient. When using radio for data communications, there is always a tradeoff between throughput and range. This product provides both a long range and a significant data rate. For example, SCADA applications may need a long-range link, but they rarely need throughput above 100 Kbps.

With this product you can achieve full Ethernet connectivity in your embedded application without the need for external cables and bulky external radios over distance up to 60 miles. Drivers are supplied and are also native for NE2000 Mode in Linux, QNX, and MS Windows, CE.NET, etc.

HG-1700 PC/104 SDLC Interface
for the Honeywell HG1700/1900 Inertial Measurement Unit

The HG-1700-104 interface is a FPGA based SDLC interface for the Honeywell HG-1700 Inertial Measurement Units (IMU). This interface utilizes a factory programmed CPLD configuration device and the FPGA configuration is done at runtime via a DOS application. All features are register based and all registers can be IO mapped to ISA bus IO space via a configuration file. Message filters allow user to read the 600 Hz or 100 Hz messages individually or both. The interface also incorporates a 16C550 based RS-422 interface that supports baud rates up to 921 kb....

Description: The IMU-1700-104 PC/104 (ISA) module is a high performance FPGA based SDLC interface for acquiring inertial data from a Honeywell HG-1700/1900 or compatible IMU. The interface is register based and can be accessed to control operation and acquire IMU data and time information. All IO registers have the capability of being either directly accessed via the FPGA base IO address block or as individually mapped IO addresses in the ISA IO space. It is recommended that all registers be IO mapped.

The interface uses two programmable logic devices. A 5V Xilinx CPLD which is JTAG programmed at the factory and an Altera FPGA. The Xilinx is used to provide a stable configuration port for runtime device configuration of the FPGA as well as providing buffered 5V drive capability for the ISA bus to and from the FPGA. Configuration of the FPGA is via Passive Serial Configuration from the Xilinx and is done via the supplied configuration software which at boot time uploads the raw binary format file to the Altera FPGA. The supplied DOS configuration software uploads the Altera ACEX configuration code and initializes the IO registers defined in an initialization file.

SDLC Interface: The SDLC interface is clocked as required by the HG1700 IMU. The HG1700 outputs 2 message types and the interface can acquire each message type individually or simultaneously. Message filtering is per register value. Upon completion of a message receive the interface will place the message size in bytes in the message size register and will generate a interrupt to the host processor to read the message.

SDLC Time Tag: A 10 Mhz clock provides 100 nS time tag resolution for each incoming inertial message relative to a GPS 1PPS signal. Upon the rising edge of the GPS 1PPS a 3 byte counter is reset to 0. Upon the first incoming bit of a SDLC message the value is stored in this register as an unsigned integer count since the GPS 1PPS. In addition to the time tag information the interface provides constant correction of the TTL clock by inserting (or deleting) error counts each PPS cycle based upon the number of counts between consecutive PPS edges. The corrected and uncorrected clock counts are readable from the ACEX memory map and are IO mappable. The count since the 1PPS is also corrected each PPS cycle based upon linear interpolation to correct for drift each cycle. The count is available as both corrected and uncorrected time tag per the ACEX memory map.

1PPS Input: The interface provides a SMA input for a TTL level 1PPS signal from a GPS to reset the IMU Time tag once per second. In addition the 1PPS input is buffered and provided as a interrupt output to the host processor. Once the PPS generates an interrupt the host processor writes a 0x80 to register 0x40 which clears the pending interrupt. This register is also IO mappable.

RS-422 Interface: The interface also provides a 16C550 UART RS-422 high speed interface for general purpose serial IO. This interface is IO mapped per the hg1700.ini configuration file and is typically mapped to a IO space such as 0x2e8. This interface supports RS-422 only at speeds up to 920 kbs. Operation is as a normal serial port. Interface is unavailable until the FPGA is configured.

OS Support: Currently only DOS is supported per customer requirement. Source is available for the configuration routine and can be ported for other operating systems. This interface requires direct IO and IRQ handlers. Custom driver can be developed for additional charge.

HG-1700 C2R Interface

The HG-1700 C2R interface is a PC/104 compliant FPGA based SDLC interface for the Honeywell HG-1700 Inertial Measurement Units (IMU). All features are register based and all registers can be IO mapped to ISA bus IO space. Message filters allow user to read the 600 Hz or 100 Hz messages individually or both. The interface also incorporates a 128 Byte Dual 16C850 based RS-422 interface that supports two serial ports at baud rates up to 921 kbs.
In addition, this new interface has 8 Optically Isolated Digital Inputs with one user selected input capable of generating a interrupt.
All internal interrupts are OR'd so IRQ sharing is possible via a IIR register. All interrupts are software assigned. No jumpers, and the unit is designed for rugged -40C to +85C and altitude.

Super Star II or OEMV-1 PC/104

Utilizing a powerful XR16C2850 Dual 128 Byte FIFO UART this CPLD based module allows access to both the data port and differential correction port with a full 128 bytes of buffer space. This can mean just one interrupt per GPS message! In addition this unit offers many special features such as simple rotary switch address selection, a third external high speed 16C850 serial port, software control of GPS reset and 1PPS output signal manipulation.

Utilizing a powerful XR16C2850 Dual 128 Byte FIFO UART this CPLD based module allows access to both the data port and differential correction port with a full 128 bytes of buffer space at up to 921kbs. This can mean just one interrupt per GPS message! In addition this unit offers many special features such as simple rotary switch address selection, the third GPS speed serial port is available at RS-232 level for a External CDU. 1PPS output signal is RS422 (for TTL use only one side).
